The University of Kentucky Student Public Health Association (UKSPHA) is a student affiliate of the Kentucky Public Health Association. Founded in 2000, this nonprofit organization is open to all UK students with an interest in public health. The SPHA is led by elected officers, as well as comittee chairs for membership, public service, fundraising, and communication.
The Master of Health Administration Student Association (MHASA) functions as both a student affiliate of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and as a social and service organization for MHA students. The MHASA organizes educational, service, and social activities and projects for all MHA students. In turn, MHASA members advise the MHA Program Director on career and professional development opportunities and initiatives. Officers for each academic year are elected during the preceding Spring semester.
Sigma Phi Omega is the national academic honor and professional society that recognizing excellence in the fields of gerontology and aging.The Gamma Mu chapter at the University of Kentucky seeks to promote scholarship, professionalism, friendship, and services to older persons, and to recognize exemplary attainment in gerontology/aging studies and related fields.
Delta Omega is the honorary society for studies in public health. This national organization was founded in 1924 at Johns Hopkins University. The Beta Gamma Chapter at the University of Kentucky annually inducts outstanding graduate and undergraduate students, as well as faculty and professionals who have made significant contributions to public health.
