BPH + MPH Student Travels to Uganda via Wash. U. Summer Research Program

Olivia Pokoski, a graduating Bachelor of Public Health senior and part of the accelerated Master of Public Health program with a concentration in Health, Behavior & Society, has been accepted into the Washington University Institute for Public Health Summer Research Program. She will work with Dr. Shani Parikh on developing measures to address issues of masculinity as it pertains to increased HIV rates in sex workers in the Iganga District in Uganda. After the measures are created, Pokoski will travel with a research team to Uganda to conduct surveys with locals.
