BPH Student Accepted for Nationally Competitive Internship in Occupational Health

Photo of Young Woman in Baseball CapBachelor of Public Health student Emily Jones has been accepted to the Occupational Health Internship Program (OHIP). Housed within the Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics and funded as a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health training project grant, the selective program will enroll only 25 students from across the nation this year. Emily is assigned to the Pittsburgh section, which is working on hazardous waste cleanup at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant. She was mentored in the application process by Dr. Nancy E. Johnson (Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health). A first-generation college student from Brush Valley, Pa., Emily is also a member of the UK Rodeo Team.
