The University of Kentucky College of Public Health provides start-up packages to all new faculty recruits. The Vice President of Research returns Facility and Administrative funding to the Colleges in the form of Start-up funds and the academic Departments in the form of Enrichment funds. The College will provide these funds in a consistent and equitable fashion to all new hires.
The College of Public Health provides the following start-up for all tenure eligible faculty hires to be provided over three years:
$ 25,000
Departments have the opportunity to provide additional start-up from departmentally available funding or partnerships with other units.
Faculty will have three (3) years from the final installment to spend the funding. At the end of three years, any remaining start-up will be pulled back to the central pool to be used for new hires.
