Electronic newsletters, in part, are one communication tool that the Marketing and Communications team packages to keep the college (and other pertinent parties) informed and inspired regarding our stories, news, events, and other important updates.

Currently, the following newsletters are maintained by the Marketing and Communications team:

  • Monday Letter (ML) – a weekly newsletter released every Monday morning (primarily for our staff, faculty, and other internal stakeholders). Exception: if that Monday falls on a holiday, then we typically do not schedule a ML.
  • Monthly Monday Letter (MML) – a monthly newsletter and a collection of the best items from that month’s ML’s (internal and external stakeholders). Distributed typically on the 2nd Monday of each month in the evenings.

All Monday Letters and Monthly Monday Newsletters can be found on the College of Public Health website at cph.uky.edu/administration/marketing-communications/monday-letter.

We strongly encourage all internal and external stakeholders to submit content for consideration in the Monday Letter and the Monthly Monday Letter.

  • Submit your content suggestions on the Marketing and Communications page here.
  • Complete the Qualtrics survey thoroughly.
  • The Marcom team will review your request and follow accordingly.
  • Want someone to get our newsletters (or be included in our other distribution lists which include Catalyst and Research)? Direct them here.
  • Currently, all newsletters are created in Constant Contact (CC).
  • On a monthly basis, we cross-reference our active employee list with CC to make sure that all faculty and staff are receiving the ML.

Best Practices

  • Typically, content for the ML and MML include student and academic excellence, awards and recognition, public health impact and stories, community, national, international events with correlations to public health, career achievement, research publications and/or impact, etc.
  • Be as specific as possible in your request (for example: appropriate links, pictures, other pertinent details, etc.).
  • Be timely in your request. If something is urgent, we ask that you send your request as early as possible.
  • The Director of Marketing and Communications, if necessary, will follow up with the requester to discuss news/success story submission.
  • The Director of Marketing and Communications has the final decision on content included in the ML and MML.
  • We strongly recommend taking 10-15 minutes each week to read through the ML and MML. These newsletters will help you stay engaged, informed, and hopefully learn something that you didn’t know already!
