Dr. Anna Kucharska-Newton is a cardiovascular epidemiologist and an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology.
Dr. Kucharska-Newton is a long-term investigator of the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) Study, with more than 100 publications to date. Her research portfolio includes, among others, the examination of factors associated with frailty among older adults; assessment of the community burden of heart failure; and examination of the contribution of socioeconomic factors to cardiovascular disease incidence.
Dr. Kucharska-Newton teaches the following courses: Advanced Epidemiology, Doctoral Seminar, and Chronic Disease Epidemiology.
