On Feb. 22, 1865, John Bryan Bowman founded the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Kentucky University — now known as the University of Kentucky.
To celebrate this historic anniversary, the UK Alumni Association will host the inaugural Founders Day Festival from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 22, on the second floor of the Gatton Student Center, 160 Avenue of Champions. The event is free and open to the UK community and the public.
The campus community is invited to attend and celebrate UK’s 157th birthday. Commemorate the university's past, present and future with a variety of activities, games, giveaways and music, including a chance to win the limited-edition Founders Day T-Shirt.
