MSBST Master of Science in Biostatistics Careers
Overview
Recognizing the current and future demand for more advanced biostatisticians, the Master of Science in Biostatistics (MSBST) program offers a unique mix of core and electives courses, real-world projects, experiential learning/training opportunities, and strong campus partnerships to prepare our graduates to make an impact in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the region, and beyond.
Partnerships and Career Outcomes
Leveraging our partners on campus gives our students a unique advantage. Some of these partnerships include the UK Center for Clinical and Translation Science (CCTS) and the UK Biostatistics, Epidemiology & Research Design (BERD), which offers our students valuable training opportunities in the application of descriptive and inferential statistics specific to biomedical research, clinical and translational studies, public health and more. Research shows high demand, but low supply of current graduates in biostatistics. Graduates of the MSBST program will have the opportunity to pursue some of the following current and future in-demand careers after graduating.
- Biostatistician
- Data Analyst/Informatics Specialist
- Data Scientist
- Machine Learning Scientist
- Principal Investigator (PI)
- Professor or Teacher
- Quantitative Scientist
- Research Scientist
- Statistical/Biostatistical Programmer
