The John Wiggs Scholarship Fund was established in memory of long-time College of Public Health staff member – John Wiggs. Funding is awarded to an MPH or DrPH student with financial need and high academic achievement, with a preference for students from underrepresented groups.
A gift to the MHA Scholarship Fund helps high-potential students complete their education. MHA students will be leading in the management of hospitals, health systems, and other complex health-related organizations to improve performance in the coming years. They are the future of how our country manages healthcare.
We understand that financial hardships sometimes prevent students from persisting and becoming successful stewards of our college. The Student Support Fund is designed to help our students who are experiencing a financial need or monetary crisis/emergency.
Dr. Riddell, an associate professor in CPH’s Department of Health Management and Policy, is being recognized through the establishment of the Martha Riddell MHA Endowed Scholarship.

A ceremonial groundbreaking was held Friday for the largest academic building in the history of the University of Kentucky. At over 500,000 square feet, the new Health Education Building will house programs in the colleges of Medicine, Public Health, Health Sciences and Nursing as well as the Center for Interprofessional and Community Health Education.
For 24 hours on Thursday, April 18, 2024, our University of Kentucky community will come together to celebrate the university’s giving day, One Day for UK, and support their favorite college, program or cause.
The University of Kentucky College of Public Health is undergoing a review by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) for re-accreditation. Part of this process includes the invitation to provide third-party comments. Anyone, including students, alumni, employers, community partners, etc., is allowed to share relevant information about the college directly with CEPH. If you would like to provide input to CEPH to inform their review, send your comments to submissions@ceph.org by May 4th, 2025.
