Lindsey Hammerslag, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics, in the University of Kentucky College of Public Health. Her work bridges behavioral neuroscience, health services research, and public health informatics, with a focus on improving outcomes for individuals with substance use disorder.
As a first-generation college student, Dr. Hammerslag is committed to making data approachable for learners of all backgrounds. She designs tools and resources that empower students, professionals, and community members alike to understand and use data in ways that support healthier communities across the Commonwealth.
Dr. Hammerslag leads statewide data infrastructure projects that support public health decision-making in Kentucky, including the development of interactive dashboards and data capture tools for opioid response initiatives. She is a co-investigator on several NIH-funded studies and a steering committee member for the State-University Partnership Learning Network, advocating for cross-agency data collaborations that inform equitable, evidence-based care and public health interventions.
