Sean Patterson, FACHE 

Chief Executive Officer, NorthCrest Medical Center

Sean Patterson is a healthcare executive with more than 12 years experience within HCA.  He has served as the TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center’s Chief Executive Officer since December of 2022.

Prior to his time at TriStar NorthCrest, Sean services as Chief Operating Office of St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah from January 2019 until November 2022. While COO, Sean focused on growth strategies with several service lines including: cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, colorectal, general surgery, urology and GYN-onc. In addition to service line growth, Sean also was the administrative lead over the new $150M patient tower on campus, which provided an entirely new lobby for the facility along with over 90 additional new patient rooms.

Previously, Sean served as the Chief Operating Officer of TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Nashville Tennessee from March 2016 until December 2018.  During his tenure as COO at StoneCrest, Sean focused on OR throughput, physician alignment, outreach opportunities throughout the community and expansion opportunities.

Prior to TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center, Sean was the Associate Chief Operating Officer of TriStar Skyline Medical Center from September 2014 until March 2016.  As an ACOO, Sean focused on environment of care, life safety, and the safety and security of the facility and facility employees.  In addition, he assisted in several construction projects, including the addition of a 5-bed Neuro ICU and the proposal for a patient tower expansion.  As the CSO, he was also tasked with managing the productivity of the facility and ensuring the facility made the budgeted productivity target daily.

Before his tenure as the ACOO of Skyline Medical Center, Sean served as a Manager of Performance Improvement with the Corporate PI Team.  Over the course of his time within PI, Sean visited multiple facilities throughout the company to find cost savings/revenue enhancement opportunities throughout multiple facilities, including Fawcett Memorial Hospital, St. David’s Medical Center and Alaska Regional Hospital.  While in PI, Sean was accepted into the HCA Executive Development Program, completing the curriculum before being promoted to an ACOO at Skyline.

Sean earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology and his Masters of Healthcare Administration from the University of Kentucky.
