Dr. Ketrell McWhorter is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health in the College of Public Health. She is an American Council on Exercise (ACE) certified personal trainer and fitness nutrition specialist. She is also certified in Barre Intensity and Group Power training, a professional bodybuilder in the National Gym Association and NGA Competition Judge.
Her personal mission is to take a non-invasive approach (e.g., diet, sleep, physical activity, and health literacy) to prevent and reduce the risk of cardiometabolic disruption (e.g., hypertension, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular malady) in later life. The University of Kentucky College of Public Health is undergoing a review by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) for re-accreditation. Part of this process includes the invitation to provide third-party comments. Anyone, including students, alumni, employers, community partners, etc., is allowed to share relevant information about the college directly with CEPH.
