Health management & policy (HMP) concentrators receive training in in the management functions of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling, preparing them to evaluate how multiple service delivery and financing systems interact in shaping health and wellbeing on a population level.
These courses ensure that HMP concentrators achieve and are assessed in the required knowledge and skills for the degree. The courses help students attain five (5) concentration competencies:
Evaluate how multiple service delivery and financing systems interact in shaping health and wellbeing on a population level.
Apply tools associated with the management functions of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling.
Apply approaches for measuring performance related to population health outcomes.
Apply appropriate methods to analyze organizational issues.
Apply current methods to improve organizational performance, including quality, safety, equity, and consumer experience.
Along with enrolling in all MPH core curriculum courses, Health Management & Policy concentrators will be required to complete 18 credit hours of coursework:

Health Management & Policy concentrators also will enroll in 6 credit hours of MPH electives, with course topics ranging from environ-mental epidemiology to health disparities to health policy.
