Sarah Cprek, MPH, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health, Behavior, & Society. She has served as Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Bachelor of Public Health program since 2016.
Dr. Cprek is the recipient of the 2016 Dean’s Innovation in Teaching Award for her work redeveloping the Introduction to Public Health course, which is taught to 400 students across the university annually.
She also received the Dean’s Outstanding Teaching Performance Award in 2021, and the University of Kentucky’s Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award in 2022. She is a member of the Association of Schools & Programs of Public Health’s Undergraduate Public Health and Global Health Education Network.
Outside of her work in undergraduate education, Dr. Cprek works in Maternal and Child Health research and evaluation. She is the Principal Investigator for a research partnership between UK CPH and the non-profit organization, Great Kids Inc.
Her primary research interests involve assessing the long-term impact of childhood experiences on health, specifically the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), positive parenting practices, the social determinants of health, and educational attainment.
