The University of Kentucky College of Public Health's Health, Behavior & Society (HBS) department welcomes Emma Sartin, PhD, MPH, CPST, Research Scientist at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Center for Injury Research and Prevention, on April 27th at 12pm - 1:30pm at the 90 (Teall Room 203) on campus (Zoom option here).
Her research focuses on studying and alleviating disparities in health behaviors and improving physical and social outcomes for marginalized populations.
Dr. Sartin will speak about "Transportation Equity and Public Health" and present her research on how vulnerable populations of road users are differentially affected by aspects of the transportation environment, such as policies and technologies.
All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend. Registration is required and lunch will be provided. Virtual option is available.
Speaker Biography:
Emma Sartin (PhD, MPH, CPST) recently finished a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Center for Injury Research and Prevention at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Her research employs multiple methods to characterize and ameliorate inequities in transportation topics and unintentional childhood injuries.
Emma is a first-generation college student who completed a dual-degree PhD in Lifespan Developmental Psychology and MPH in Health Behavior program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
