The University of Kentucky College of Public Health (CPH) and the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program welcomes Tanja Oquendo, J.D., System Senior Vice President, Transformation and Integration at CommonSpirit Health, to the 2023 MHA Executive Seminar Series in Room 102 at the Mining and Minerals Resources Building on campus.
The Executive Seminar Series provides an exclusive opportunity to engage, network, and ask questions with highly qualified and experienced leaders who speak on current healthcare topics.
The seminar starts at 9am, which is open to all CPH students, and the executive-student round table will begin at 10:15am, which is exclusive to UK MHA students.

Healthcare Mergers and Acquisitions: Benefits and Challenges
Biography:
Tanja Oquendo, J.D., currently serves as System Senior Vice President for Transformation and Integration at CommonSpirit Health (CSH), the nation’s second-largest non-profit healthcare system generating approximately $30 billion in annual revenue.
She has played a leading role in how the organization has developed following the merger of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health (DH). Tanja helped identify nearly $1 billion in value capture since CSH was formed in 2019.
She also has developed and led the implementation of a culture-shaping strategy that has been instrumental in navigating through the constantly evolving COVID-19 pandemic — while simultaneously helping create a mission-driven, high-performance culture directed at patient care.
The University of Kentucky College of Public Health is undergoing a review by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) for re-accreditation. Part of this process includes the invitation to provide third-party comments. Anyone, including students, alumni, employers, community partners, etc., is allowed to share relevant information about the college directly with CEPH.
