Dr. Kathleen Winter is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology, College of Public Health.  She has expertise in immunizations and vaccine-preventable diseases, with particular focus on pertussis, meningococcal disease, and viral hepatitis. Prior to joining the College in 2016, Dr. Winter worked as an epidemiologist in the Immunization Branch of the California Department of Public Health and has more than 13 years experience in communicable disease surveillance, prevention, and control.  She is also a faculty affiliate with the UK Perinatal Research and Wellness Center.  Dr. Winter teaches graduate-level courses for the Department of Epidemiology, including Introduction to Epidemiology (CPH 605), Infectious Disease Epidemiology (CPH 612), Advanced Epidemiology (CPH 710), and Doctoral Seminar (CPH 786).
