Dr. Charnigo completed his Ph.D. in Statistics at Case Western Reserve University and has been a faculty member at the University of Kentucky since 2003. His primary appointment is in the Biostatistics Department (College of Public Health), and he has a secondary appointment in the Statistics Department (College of Arts and Sciences).
His main interests in statistical theory and methodology are nonparametric regression and mixture modeling. Dr. Charnigo has also been involved in many studies relating to cardiovascular health. Through working with his students, he has become involved in research on Alzheimer’s disease, health care quality, and nephrology.
