Dr. Dustin K. Miracle is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Kentucky College of Public Health, where his research focuses on factors impacting access to care with particular emphasis on community pharmacy access and its impact on public health for underserved populations. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy, specializing in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy, along with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and Graduate Certificate in Biostatistics.
Dr. Miracle's work has been published in notable journals including the Journal of Rural Health, Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety, and Drug and Alcohol Dependence. His research spans multiple public health domains, including hormonal contraceptive access, medication disposal systems in rural communities, buprenorphine dispensing for opioid use disorder, and evaluation of prescription opioid days' supply accuracy. Currently, Dr. Miracle is leading an investigation into how pharmacy closures affect Medicare populations and the timing of shingles vaccination as a part of the Center for Clinical and Translational Science's TL1 Postdoctoral Training Program, funded by the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences.
