Kelsey Karnik is a Biomedical Data Scientist in the Biostatistics Consulting and Interdisciplinary Research Collaboration Lab (Biostat CIRCL) in the Department of Biostatistics. She also serves as a Senior Biostatistician with the Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design (BERD) Core in the University of Kentucky’s Center for Clinical and Translational Science. Prior to joining the University of Kentucky, Kelsey earned her Ph.D. in Statistics from University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Her work focuses on collaborative biostatistics, partnering with investigators across a wide range of disciplines to support study design, data management, statistical analysis, and interpretation of findings. Kelsey enjoys helping researchers translate scientific questions into rigorous and practical analytical approaches. Her methodological interests include longitudinal and repeated-measures data analysis, clinical and behavioral health research, and the application of statistical methods to improve health outcomes and advance translational science.
