May is Mental Health Awareness Month, which is a time that we focus on raising awareness about the importance of mental health and share resources with our communities.
Mental Health Awareness Month is crucial for public health as mental health conditions affect millions of people worldwide and can significantly impact individuals, families, and communities. By promoting awareness and understanding of mental health, we can help reduce the barriers that prevent people from seeking help and support, and ultimately improve the overall well-being of our society.
Join us in supporting The Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH)'s campaign theme – Mental Health for All: Equity, Access, and Inclusivity.
EQUITY: Ensuring that everyone has access to mental health care and support, regardless of their background or circumstances.
ACCESS: The ability of individuals to obtain and utilize necessary mental health services, resources, information, and support.
INCLUSIVITY: Efforts made to emphasize the importance of cultural background; understanding and respecting diverse cultures' unique mental health needs.
