The Theodore "Ted" Hanekamp Memorial Scholarship was named in memory of and honor of Theodore "Ted" Hanekamp who devoted his entire career to public health. In 2006, Ted was inducted into the University of Kentucky's College Public Health (UKCPH) Hall of Fame and he was also very active in the Kentucky Public Health Association (KPHA).
The Thedore "Ted" Hanekamp Memorial Scholarship is co-sponsored by the University of Kentucky's College of Public Health. Administered by the KPHA, the scholarship is also matched by UKCPH up to $10,000 each calendar year. Eligibility requires an awardee to be enrolled as a full-time graduate student in UKCPH with a minimum of 9 hours of graduate classes.
Applicants must also be a member of KPHA to be awarded the scholarship. Awardee will be determined and notified in Spring 2022 by KPHA Board of Directors. Scholarship funds will be made available by July 1.
Applicants must fill out the application and provide a detailed explanation of career goals, past academic performance, and personal history of public service, by March 14, 2022.

The University of Kentucky College of Public Health is undergoing a review by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) for re-accreditation. Part of this process includes the invitation to provide third-party comments. Anyone, including students, alumni, employers, community partners, etc., is allowed to share relevant information about the college directly with CEPH.
