In the recent "UK at the Half," Dean of the University of Kentucky College of Public Health, Dr. Donna Arnett, discusses the many layers within the field of public health.
While we’ve been living in a public health emergency for almost two years, there is a remarkable amount of misinformation surrounding the field. Dr. Arnett walks us through each level of public health, and why they are all vital in keeping communities in Kentucky and beyond safe.
"We are looking at populations and what causes diseases so we can prevent them" says Dr. Arnett. "If you think of everything that touches populations, public health is in all of those areas."
Dr. Arnett also discusses the UK College of Public Health's different academic departments, how some of the college's research is making an impact, and ultimately bettering the health for everyone.
‘"UK at the Half" airs during halftime of each UK football and basketball game broadcast on radio and is hosted by UK Public Relations and Strategic Communications. To hear the "UK at the Half" interview with Dr. Arnett, click here.
