Dr. Rachel Vickers-Smith is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health. She completed her PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at UK in 2016. Dr. Vickers-Smith is PI or Co-investigator on multiple NIH/NIDA-funded grants related to substance use.
Her research is focused on identifying and preventing adverse outcomes and harms related to changing patterns in the street drug landscape, particularly among underserved populations. Dr. Vickers-Smith teaches Advanced Methods in Biostatistics and Epidemiology and this fall will be teaching Epidemiology of the Opioid Epidemic.
