The University of Kentucky's College of Public Health welcomes Dr. Tukea Talbert, Chief Diversity Officer at UK HealthCare, to the next Executive Seminar Series on Friday, April 1st starting a 9am.

This is an exclusive event for MHA students, HMP faculty, and invited guests, and also open to CPH faculty and staff. These events provides exclusive opportunities to interact with national healthcare leaders in a small group setting.

Dr. Talbert will be speaking on "The Case for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion: The Integral Role of Healthcare Leaders" and will allow attendees to understand the importance of healthcare leaders involvement in DEI initiatives. The knowledge and tools provided by Dr. Tukea Talbert will enable leaders to incorporate these values throughout their organizations and communities.

As the Chief Diversity Officer at UK Healthcare, Dr. Talbert leads and oversees all tactics and strategies to support the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Strategic Plan and its execution. As recognized by others, she believes that diversity, equity, and inclusion are not solely important from a moral lens but also imperative from a social justice and economic perspective.

Dr. Talbert's success has been through the development, support, and engagement of team members from all backgrounds who continually demonstrate the power of inclusive excellence and togetherness.

Dr. Talbert has served in numerous leadership roles in diverse settings totaling more than 20 years of clinical operations leadership experience: She has managed clinical specialty areas including orthopedics, general medicine, trauma step-down unit, and oncology in an academic healthcare organization.

Other senior executive roles have included Chief Nurse Executive of a community hospital, Enterprise Director for Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance, Enterprise Director of the Office of Quality & Safety, Assistant Operations Executive and Interim Assistant Chief Nurse Executive for the development of a contract with the state to manage the local mental health facility, Eastern State Hospital.
